Even if you didn’t necessarily recognize the word “kendo” as a traditional Japanese martial art, you would likely remember the appearance of a kendōka (one who practices the art) by his or her hakama – the wide legged trousers that some observers say looks more like a skirt than pants. The hakama have been around for centuries – actually since the 6th century! You will also see the hakama worn by practioners of aikido.
But, that’s not why we’re here – or, I should say Kendo isn’t the only reason we’re here. We are into fitness for both men and women, and we were pretty pleased to be able to secure this website so that we can offer fitness resources for not only the martial arts, but all manner of wellness!
